Doodle 10

We watched A Muppet Christmas Carol the other night and one of the songs has a line that says "There's only one more sleep 'til Christmas". I used that line as the basis for the advent-like calendar for Christmas this year. I got a package of kraft paper tags and wrote the numbers on them and I attached them with tape so they'll be easy to get off the next day. Hopefully it'll be a daily job instead of a near-daily one like my blog posting :)

Doodle 9

After thanksgiving dinner, it was time to relax, chat, and make out our annual Christmas lists for my mother-in-law. Here's the doodle I did while I was digesting...

Doodle 8

Elizabeth and I were discussing her birthday party and what she wanted to do. Like 90% of the other 6-year-olds out there, she wants a Frozen themed party. Here's a doodle on my note pad...

Doodle 7

Work in progress for decorations next week. Dinner with the in-laws on Thursday and my family is coming down on the 29th... That means a weekend of cleaning in the very, very near future! :)

Doodle 5

A very sweet friend of mine gave me this quote to work with the other day. Looking forward to developing it more!

If you have any suggestions for quotes or words you'd like to see me play around with, leave me a comment or email me - paisleyparrotdesign@gmail.com

Doodle 4

Elizabeth helped me out with this one last night. She did hers and asked me to do one too. Then she told me how to make it. I love my itty bitty art director! :)

Doodle 3

Recently, several of my friends have been having babies. I LOVE seeing them pop up in my FB newsfeed! Unfortunately, they're all so far away.

One friend in particular, Angie, had a doozy of a time getting pregnant. When it finally happened, I was absolutely overjoyed for her. I'm proud to say that I'm a pseudo-auntie to Wyatt Alexander Bradford who entered this world at 12:36 PM on November 3rd. He was a healthy 8 lbs, 2 oz. and was 20.5" long.

I was in the garage last night hanging out with my husband and I started to doodle on a piece of paper I found, giving you my 3rd post:

Doodle 2

It goes without saying that veterans have a special place in my heart - my grandfather, father and brother, as well as several other friends and family members, have served our country. There are so many more sacrifices that these men and women go through than we can ever imagine. It's not just the time away from family while training or being deployed, it's the after effects of what they've lived through and experienced with their brothers- and sisters-in-arms. I've only been privy to a small amount of the camaraderie that holds these amazing people together in good times and bad and it's very humbling.

So for today, tomorrow and always, thank you.

Doodle 1

Today's post, my first in this project, is a quote I've been playing around with for some time. It's by no means perfect-looking, but the object of this exercise is to jump in with both feet and concentrate on improving. That being said, don't be surprised if this quote is the subject of another post in the future.
